"I'm a recovering pack rat and clutter monkey. I've worked with other organizers before and what I particularly liked about working with Declan yesterday was that he spent considerable time up front (on the phone and upon arrival at my house) to determine what my needs and priorities were instead of starting the project without a larger objective in mind.
I also LOVED that I didn't have to do it all! In fact, while I was out on an errand, I stopped for a nice lunch knowing that Declan was working effectively on my behalf.
Another thing I realized in talking through my methods/personality is that I'm better off with one large category file than sub categories as someone else had set up for me. It was hassling with the sub categories that kept me from putting things away! I can manage to put things into a single file (e.g. all insurance vs. files for auto, home, earthquake, etc.)
The transformation in my home office (day) / TV room (night) is spectacular. It feels spacious and orderly. Before I went to bed, I just sat in my nice "new" room enjoying my surroundings and felt satisfied and grateful for the work that Declan did. I'm looking forward to getting the kitchen in shape!
